On October 25, 26, and 27, 2024,
180 Marine is hosting a training event on the popular Corsair 880.
Our Trimaran Sailing Clinics are designed to provide the essential foundations of sailing skills on a Corsair trimaran. Participants learn how to sail a Corsair trimaran much better or sample what it's like to sail one. They gain extensive hands-on experience, building the necessary sailing skills and knowledge.
We are professional sailors with a passion for sailing and ocean adventures. Our instructors have put thousands of miles on the water in many races worldwide.
Using the modern Corsair trimarans as our teaching platform, we begin with off-the-water demonstrations on the Corsair trimaran dynamics, followed by on-the-water training.
After 2.5 years of development, we present the newest addition to the Dragonfly Range: the Dragonfly 36 Performance Cruiser. Designed for comfortable high-speed cruising, it sets new standards in comfort, performance, practicality, and ease of handling—even with minimal crew.

Dragonfly has several locations nationwide where you can try out a Dragonfly trimaran. If you value foldable/trailerable performance over the finish, then a Corsair may be a good choice. But, if you value foldable/trailerable refinement over pure performance then a Dragonfly is the way to go.
Some owners have agreed to show and demo their Dragonfly trimaran. This is a great way to get first-hand information from an owner about the Dragonfly experience.

Corsair Trimaran Training Clinics from 180 Marine
Our Trimaran Sailing Clinics are designed to provide the essential foundations of sailing skills on a Corsair trimaran. Learn how to sail a Corsair much better or sample what Corsair trimarans are like to sail. Participants gain extensive hands-on experience, building the necessary sailing skills and knowledge.
Our gracious Corsair trimaran owners have agreed to help build the trimaran community by allowing us to use their boats for demos and training. Our demos and training clinics are held in Long Beach, CA, a great location for predictable wind conditions.
180 Marine offers three options to experience a Corsair 760 or the Corsair 880 Standard and Corsair 880 Sport.
Corsair 880, “Boat of the Year”
“The Corsair 880 is cool, cool, cool. Comfortable canvas bench seats. A nice little interior with all the basics for pleasant camping-style cruises. A rotating carbon-fiber spar. A tiller with an extension, and the traveler and mainsheet right at hand. Sails up, daggerboard down. As good as it gets.
We tacked upwind for a while to say we did, got some numbers, and then the real fun commenced. First, bye-bye jib; hello Code Zero. Welcome to the realm of double-digit boat speeds, which always feel faster when you’re reaching on a screamer under 30 feet. Greetings, sailing world, indeed.
We swapped the helm back and forth and took snapshots of one another. Who had the biggest smile? It was a tie. Then the kite went up for the run back to the dock. Heaven on Buzzard’s Bay.
There wasn’t another boat around, and for that matter, there wasn’t another boat in the competition that matched up with the Corsair. But you can be sure as heck we were still going to name it the year’s Best Sportboat. Which we could. So we did.
